Project: Creative Journey

Columbia, South Carolina

Columbia’s Creative Journey program is a response to help returning soldiers suffering from PTSD and/or TBI. Through local artists who have personally experienced this trauma, they realized how art can help the wellness of these veterans. Response has been overwhelming and the reward for soldiers and volunteers has been beneficial and heart-warming.

Project: Henderson Mediation Program

Henderson, Nevada

The Henderson Mediation Program provides free community mediation service to Henderson residents in convenient, neutral locations. The program focuses exclusively on community disputes like noise, animals, property, landlord-tenant relations, employer-employee issues and merchant/consumer relations. This creative solution to resolve disputes offers residents an opportunity to improve their quality of life and promotes neighborhood connectivity.

Project: Annual Neighborhood Picnic & Community Expo

The Palm Springs Neighborhood Involvement Committee hosts an annual Picnic and Community Expo with the goal of bringing people together, sharing information and having fun. Now in its 7th year, this free event celebrates the efforts of our volunteers to improve their neighborhoods and community.

Project: Identification Blade Sign Program

Palm Springs, California

Through the Palm Springs Neighborhood Involvement Committee’s Blade Sign program, neighborhood organizations create original designs for signs that are mounted atop street signs to visually identify the neighborhood. The program fosters pride and unity throughout neighborhoods and the signs transform intersections into an inviting lattice of color.
