Join Neighborhoods USANeighborhoods, USA (NUSA) is a national, non-profit organization committed to building and strengthening neighborhood organizations. Created in 1975 to share information and experiences used to build stronger communities, NUSA continues to encourage networking and information-sharing to facilitate the development of partnerships among neighborhood organizations, government, and the private sector for the ultimate goal of strengthening every neighborhood.
We currently have 5 membership tiers available: Affiliates, City/County, Corporate, Adult, and Youth.
In many regions of the world Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) is represented by affiliates that provide direct services at the community level. NUSA’s nationwide affiliate network is a dynamic and geographically diverse force of dedicated neighborhood leaders and practitioners located in urban and rural areas across the country. The affiliates are made up of people who actively work to build and strengthen neighborhoods. They are parents, professionals, laypersons, regional organizations, and others who share a commitment to preserving and strengthening neighborhoods.
There is no charge to become a NUSA Affiliate. However, we do ask that you provide NUSA with a listing of your membership’s email addresses. This information is for NUSA informational purposes only. NUSA’s primary goal is to help create vibrant communities in which all residents benefit. A City / County membership with NUSA demonstrates your local government’s support and recognition of the value of municipalities establishing partnerships with grass-roots neighborhood organizations and encouraging more participation among citizens.
The annual City/County NUSA membership fee is $100. Membership terms are June 30 – July 1, annually.
In addition to being recognized on NUSA’s web site and social media outlets, membership entitles you to:
- Annual subscription to NUSA News, the official newsletter of NUSA which is published three times per year. In each edition, we publish the list of our City / County members.
- A certificate and 5 commemorative NUSA pins.
- Recognition in our conference program which is distributed to all attendees of the annual NUSA conference.
There are two (2) ways to become a City/County NUSA member or renew an existing membership:

A corporate membership with NUSA demonstrates your company’s support and recognition of the value of establishing partnerships with grass-roots neighborhood organizations to encourage more participation among citizens.
The intent of NUSA, in encouraging these partnerships, is to achieve greater understanding of the premise that neighborhoods are truly the building blocks for improving the overall well-being of a community. It is important that corporations and neighborhood associations work together to develop opinions and suggestions that will improve the overall quality of life in our communities.
The annual Corporate NUSA Membership fee is $150. The membership term is June 30 – July 1, annually.

Individual membership fees are only $50 per year. If you register for the annual NUSA conference, your individual membership fee is included with your registration fee.

The development of future community leaders is critical to neighborhood capacity building and empowerment. If you are between the ages of 13 – 18, get involved today by becoming a youth member of Neighborhoods, USA.
A Youth Membership with NUSA provides an opportunity for people from all locations, sectors and levels of society to discuss the pressing issues of the times, share experiences and offer encouragement or assistance to others interested in the betterment of their community.
Youth memberships are only $25 per year. If you register for the annual NUSA conference, your individual membership fee is included with your registration fee.
